ABOUT ABOUT

Tickets are also available at the door.

Join Walid Raad for a lecture at the School at ICP.

Walid Raad fuses his identities as multimedia artist and scholar to explore the relationship between truth and historical narratives. His fictitious organization, the Atlas Group, challenges viewers with its illusory yet convincing artifacts of Lebanese contemporary history. Raad’s recent work concerns the physical and philosophical journeys of art as it enters the burgeoning cultural institutions of the Arab world.

Raad is an Associate Professor of Art at the Cooper Union and a member of the Arab Image Foundation. Along with publishing numerous literary works, his work has been exhibited at MoMA (2004, 2005) and The Venice Biennale (2003), among others.

Due to professional obligations, lecture dates may change without notice. For more information, call 212.857.0001.
