ABOUT ABOUT

In conjunction with the exhibition Lewis Hine, on view October 4–January 19, three scholars of documentary photography will discuss Hine's work and legacy.

Alison Nordström, Curator-at-Large at the George Eastman House, curated the exhibition out of the Eastman House's extensive collection and authored the accompanying catalogue, the most recent comprehensive treatment of Hine's work.

Maren Stange, a professor at the Cooper Union, has written extensively about social documentary photography and cultural history in America.

Jorge Ribalta, an artist and a curator at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid, is the author and curator of The Worker Photography Movement (1926–1939), a thorough and innovative assessment of photography in response to the economic crisis of the 1930s.

The panel will be moderated by ICP Curator Kristen Lubben.
