ABOUT ABOUT

STOP is the first feature-length documentary addressing the policing controversies that have divided New York City for the last several years. The film explores the people and issues surrounding Floyd v. City of New York, the class action lawsuit brought by the Center for Constitutional Rights that challenged the NYPD's practice of stop and frisk.

After the deaths of Michael Brown, Eric Garner, and Akai Gurley, the nation continues to ask itself the questions posed by the film: How can we balance safety against civil rights? How entrenched is racial profiling in law enforcement? Where do we go from here?

Join Spencer Wolff, David Ourlicht (a plaintiff in Floyd v. City of New York) and special guests in a conversation about the hotly debated NYPD practice of stop and frisk.

The screening will be followed by a discussion and reception. Moderator: Bayeté Ross Smith
